Reunion with Courtney

Courtney was in town this weekend from Virginia. I have been friends with Courtney for 20 years!!! oh my God thats a long time. We were the best of friends in highschool. I love her and miss her so much. We went to Ku after highschool and met Neila and Stacey. So this weekend I had a BBQ and we all got together and all our kids played. There were 7 kids and it was so fun!!!! The food was great and the company was even better. After everyone went home it was just courtney and I and our two oldest boys took a bath together and dumped the entire bottle of soap in the tub and the bubbles were overflowing onto the floor. They had so much fun. Anyway.....I had a great day!

ITS MY BIRTHDAY AND I'LL CRY IF I WANT TO

TODAY IM 35 YEARS OLD. IT FEELS SO OLD. IS STILL FEEL LIKE IM 25. I HAVE DONE MORE FROM 30-35 THAN I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE TIME. I GOT MARRIED, GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE, AND HAD 2 KIDS. WOW.....IT KIND OF FEELS LIKE 35 IS A NEW CHAPTER. I JUST HOPE 35-40 IS JUST AS GOOD. TONIGHT IM GOING TO MY SISTERS HOUSE FOR AN ADULT SLUMBER PARTY (GIRLS ONLY) IM EXCITED. I PLAN ON KICKING BACK AND HAVING A GIRLIE DRINK AND HANGING OUT. IT WILL BE FUN! WELL.......CHEERS!!!!!!

WHY? WHY? WHY?

JACK. JACK. JACK......MY SWEET LITTLE JACK. YOU PUT THIS CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT AND STRAP A SEAT BELT ON HIM AND HE STARTS TALKIN'. HE ASKS THE CRAZIEST QUESTIONS. AND WHEN I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER HE TELLS ME "MOMS DON'T KNOW ANYTHING EXCEPT HOW TO LOVE THEIR BOYS" AND THEN HE GOES ON AND TELLS ME THAT DADS KNOW EVERYTHING. I CORRECTED THAT THEORY QUICKLY AND EXPLAINED THAT DADS DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING.....THEY JUST LIE WELL. (NO, I DIDN'T BREAK HIS HEART AND TELL HIM THAT)
ANYWAY....ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL HE ASKED ME ABOUT HEAVEN AND DYING. (I HATE THIS SUBJECT) HE WANTED TO KNOW IF WE COULD WAKE UP WHEN WE GOT TO HEAVEN AND HE WANTED TO KNOW IF WE COULD COME BACK DOWN TO EARTH WHENEVER WE WANTED. WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT WE CANT COME BACK TO EARTH HE DECIDED THAT HE WAS ANGRY WITH GOD. THIS KID IS DEEP!!! BUT BY THE TIME WE WERE AT SCHOOL HE WAS ON TO ANOTHER SUBJECT. HE WAS NOW WANTING TO KNOW WHY BIRDS DON'T HAVE HANDS.

I THINK HE MIGHT GROW UP TO BE A DOCTOR BECAUSE HE SEARCHES FOR ANSWERS SO MUCH. MAYBE HE WILL FIND A CURE FOR SOME DISEASE BECAUSE HE WONT STOP UNTIL HE HAS THE ANSWER. WHO KNOWS. HE'S JUST A GREAT KID .

CARNIVAL IN OLATHE

  • THIS PAST WEEKEND WAS OLD SETTLERS DAY WE HAD A GOOD TIME. JACK WAS SO BRAVE. HE WANTED TO RIDE ALL THE RIDES....EVEN THE ONES HE WAS NOT TALL ENOUGH TO RIDE. I GOT SCARED ON THE FERRIS WHEEL.. JACK HELPED ME OUT. I HATE RIDES!!!!! JACK RODE THE "SWINGS" AND I HAD FLASH BACKS OF BEING IN GRADE SCHOOL AND SCREAMING FOR MY MOM TO STOP THE RIDE.

FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL

Today was Jack's first day of his new preschool. We decided to keep him back this year and not put him into kindergarten because he would be at a great advantage to be a step ahead when he does start kinderegarten. He is the funniest child I know. When we went to the school he said he did not want to go. The first thing he said to the teacher was that she looked like a grandma. (she is most likely 60) He was given a choice of what to do until the other kids arrived and of course he went straight to the costume area and put on a cape and started running around the room like a super hero. At first I was imberresed but I talked to my mom later in the day and she told me that every child is unique in their own way and if Im proud of what he is then he will be proud of himself also. That really hit home with me and Im going to try and be more proud of who he is and not try to make him who I think he should be. Even if he jumps around like superman or can recite an entire episode of spongebob , or wears a belt in his underwear and pretends its a tail. Its ok....its who he is. And I love him. Thanks mom for the words of wisdom.
